Norman A. Lind

Norman A. Lind, 48, was born
on June 15, 1950. He lived most of his life with his mother,
Esther, and his three brothers. Norm's father, Albert, died when
he was a young boy. Norman went to Holy Cross grade school and to
St. Joseph and LaSalle High Schools. He attended Indiana
University and the University of Colorado. He enjoyed one year in
the Peace Corps, helping with countries in South America.
Norman married Julie Lindley on July 28,
1979. Norm and Julie have three sons, Jayson 16, Eric 14, and
A-Jay 12. They lived in their Niles country home since 1992.
Norman had many occupations, Hills True Value, Leggett and Platt,
South Bend Stamping and Wolverine Metal Stamping. Norm loved the
country, sports, coaching his sons' teams, and being with his
friends and family.
Norman is survived by his wife Julie; sons,
Jayson, Eric and A-Jay; and by his three brothers, Al Lind of
Anderson, Ind., Ed Lind of South Bend and Paul Lind of Mishawaka.
Funeral services for Norman will be at 11
a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, in the Sanctuary at the First United
Methodist Church, 333 N. Main Street, South Bend. Rev. Dr.
Ellwood K. Smith will conduct the services. Friends may call from
2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, in the Chapel at the
First United Methodist Church. Cremation will take place. The
Welsheimer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Flowers may
be sent to the First United Methodist Church, 333 N. Main Street,
South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the YMCA of
Niles, 315 W. Main Street, Niles, MI 49120; or to the Holy Cross
Athletic Association, 1020 N. Wilber Street, South Bend, IN
