Everett T. Lindell, 89, of Jackie
Lane, South Bend, Ind., passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 4, in his
residence. Mr. Lindell was born on Nov. 13, 1912, in Chicago,
Ill., to the late Theodore and Anna (Johnson) Lindell. H e
was also preceded in death by a sister, Vera Sallows. As a
young adult, he moved to the South Bend area and had lived here
for most of his life.
On June 10, 1939, in St. Stanislaus Catholic
Church, South Bend, he married Amata Urbanski, who
survives. Along with his wife of 62 years, he is survived by a
daughter, Thia (John Vawter) Hull of South Bend; two
grandchildren, Sarah R. (Mark Florkowski) Dukes and Samuel
J. (Tammy) Hull, both of South Bend; and by three
great-grandchildren, Cameron M. Dukes, Devyn R. Hull and Blaise
A. Hull, all of South Bend.
Mr. Lindell worked for Studebaker, and then
became a parts clerk for Gates Chevrolet in South Bend before his
retirement in 1978. He was a disabled U.S. Army veteran of World
War II. He was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church,
South Bend, and belonged to the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge
#58 of South Bend.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today,
Dec. 6, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive,
South Bend, where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, in
Christ the King Catholic Church, with entombment to follow at
Riverview Cemetery. A military service will be conducted at the
cemetery by V.F.W. Post # 360. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association,
Northern Indiana Chapter, 108 N. Main Street, Suite 707, South
Bend, IN 46601-1617.
