SOUTH BEND - Amata J. Lindell, 91, of South Bend, passed
away on Thursday, Nov. 15, in the Fountainview Nursing Home,
Mishawka, IN. She was born on October 14, 1916, in South Bend, to
the late Theodore and Stella (Tobolski) Urbanski,
and was a lifelong area resident.
On June 10, 1939, she married Everett J.
Lindell, who preceded her in death on December 4, 2001. She was
also preceded in death by a sister, Eugenia Harley, and
two brothers, Emery and Dominic Urbanski. Mrs. Lindell is
survived by her daughter, Thia (John) Vawter of South
Bend; two grandchildren, Sarah (Mark) Florkowski of South
Bend and Samuel (Tammy) Hull of Springtown, TX; three
great-grandchildren, Cameron Dukes, Devyn and Blaise Hull;
and by a sister, Renata (Jack) Maciejewski of South Bend.
Amata worked as a proofreader for Ave Maria
Press for 20 years before retiring in 1982. She was member of the
Women of the Moose Lodge, American Business Women's Association
and the University Club of Notre Dame. Amata enjoyed reading and
watching sports, especially Notre Dame football and the Chicago
Cubs.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to
8 PM Tuesday, Nov. 20, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N.
Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be recited
at 4:30 PM. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1 PM Wednesday,
Nov. 21, 2007, in Christ the King Catholic Church, 52473 SR 933,
South Bend. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to
Alzheimer's Services, P.O. Box 4204, South Bend, IN 46634.
