MISHAWAKA - Robert Dean Lightner, 81, of 408 White Oak Drive, died at 6:48 a.m. today in Meridian Nursing Center-Eastlake, Elkhart, after an illness. Mr. Lightner retired in 1975 from Wheelabrator-Frye Corp. after 20 years of service. He was born Sept. 7, 1913, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On Feb. 14, 1938, in South Bend, he married Bernice M. Biesbroeck. She died Oct. 13, 1991. He is survived by two daughters, Kathleen A. Kolacz of Mishawaka and Susan K. Bradshaw of Goshen; a son, Robert F. of Bristol; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Ballard of Johnson City, Tenn. He was a member of East United Methodist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the church. Cremation will take place with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call two hours before services on Monday in the church. Hahn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
