SOUTH BEND - David Lieberman, 74, of
Carlsbad, Calif., formerly of South Bend, died Jan. 24 while on a
cruise on the Mexican Riviera.
Mr. Lieberman was merchandise manager of the
former Robertson's Department Store for 30 years and the former
owner of Keene's Klothes, Elkhart. He was born April 20, 1919, in
New York City.
In 1943, in New Orleans, La., he married
Olive L. Metzger. She survives with a daughter, Corinne Wellish
of Chicago; three sons, Steven of Oceanside, Calif., Dennis of
Dayton, Ohio, and Richard of Cincinnati; six grandchildren; and
five great-grandchildren. He was a member of South Bend Elks and
Jewish War Veterans, and was a veteran of World War II.
Memorial services will be conducted Sunday
in Temple Israel, Dayton, Ohio. Cremation has taken place, with
burial in Rosecrane Cemetery, San Diego. Telophase Society, San
Diego, handled arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made
to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
