Daniel S. Leyba, 51, of South Bend,
passed away at 6:17 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006, in Hospice
House, South Bend. He was born March 1, 1954, in South Bend to
Robert and Bonita Leyba, and has lived in this community most of
his life.
On October 19, 1991, in South Bend, he
married Allyson St. John, who survives. He is also
survived by two sons, Nicholas and Brendan Leyba, both at home;
two sisters, Linda Bjoraas of Mishawaka and Lisa Leyba of
South Bend; and two brothers, Robert Leyba of Mishawaka and David
Leyba of New Carlisle, IN. Also surviving are aunts, uncles,
nieces, nephews, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by
his parents; a sister, Georgene Wittling; and a great-nephew.
He attended LaSalle High School in South
Bend, then moved to Las Vegas, NM, his junior year where he
graduated from West Las Vegas High School. Dan was employed as a
cabinet maker in the RV industry. He served his country in the
United States Army.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8
p.m. Wednesday, March 1, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park,
2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Robert J. Austgen, C.S.C.
will lead the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
There will be no services. Interment will be in Las Vegas, New
Mexico, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in
memory of Daniel Leyba may be offered to the family.
