Benedict J. Leyba, 50, residing on South Bend, IN passed away at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, in Ironwood Health and Rehab Center, South Bend. He worked for the family business, Ben's Tire Clinic, until 1994, and then with a restoration service in New Carlisle. He was born on Sept. 15, 1955, in South Bend, IN to Benedict R. and Elsie (Durskey) Leyba and has been a lifelong resident. Ben is survived by his mother, Elsie Leyba of South Bend; five brothers, James Leyba of South Bend, Gerald (Donna) Leyba of Oscoela, John Leyba and Bernard Leyba both of South Bend and Michael Leyba of Jacksonville, FL and several nieces and nephews. Ben was well liked and always helpful to others. He graduated from Washington High School and completed the Dale Carnegie Course.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 9, in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend. Rev. Michael Wurtz, C.S.C. will lead the rosary at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Ben Leyba may be offered to River Bend Cancer Services, 711 E.
