GRANGER - Patricia Renee' Lewis (Druppel), 79, loving wife
and mother, artist and loyal friend, went home to be with her
Lord on His birthday. Patricia devoted her life to her immediate
family, her extended church family and her Lord and Savior. Born
in Fort Madison, Iowa, to Leonard George and Helen Amelia Druppel,
she lived most of her life in Granger, Indiana, and attended the
Harris Prairie Church of Christ for 60 years. Her artistry, wit
and loyal friendship will be missed by many.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years,
Raymond; two children: her daughter, Jayne Helen Cowsert
(Rick Cowsert, aka "Chumley"), and a granddaughter,
Sarah Renee' Cox (Jefferey Cox) and four children,
Jonathan, Ryan, Steven and Allison; and a son, Timothy Ahlen
Lewis (Deborah), and their son, Sean. Among her favorite gospel
songs was one written by Phil Cross called "When I Get
Carried Away," and the words to the chorus very accurately
describe her feelings about leaving this earth and meeting Jesus
in heaven at the end of her life. I'm gonna let the glory roll
When the roll is called in glory. I'm gonna get beside of myself
When I get beside the King that day. I'm gonna have the time of
my life When the time of my life is over. I'm gonna get carried
away When I get carried away. We rejoice that our wife and mother
and friend has been carried away to heaven.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 o
8 p.m. in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka. A funeral service
will be held in the Harris Prairie Church of Christ on Friday at
11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for
Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Joseph County.
