Kenneth E. Lewark, 78, of Ardennes in
Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness on Thursday, April
4, in Hospice House in South Bend, Ind. Kenneth was born on July
29, 1923, in Marion, Ind., as the son of the late Byron L. and
Pearl (Brubaker) Lewark.
On July 31, 1948, in South Bend, Kenneth
married the former Marjorie Washburn, who survives. He is
also survived by two sons, Bill (Paula) Lewark of Granger, Ind.,
and David (Janet) Lewark of Des Plaines, Ill.; three
grandchildren, Allyson, Spencer and Melissa Lewark; and by a
sister, Audrey Woltman of South Bend. Kenneth worked as a
mill rite for Wheelabrator in Mishawaka for 22 years before
retiring in 1986. He was a World War II veteran serving as a
gunner in a B-24 bomber in the 15th Air Force Division. Kenneth
was a past member of VFW Post 360 of Mishawaka.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
today, April 7, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street,
Mishawaka. Services will be held at 6 p.m. today in the Hahn
Funeral Home, with Rev. Erv Mize officiating. In lieu of
flowers, the family asks that contributions in memory of Kenneth
be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court,
South Bend, IN 46637-3437.
