Jennifer M. Levendoski, 42, of South Bend, IN, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at 8:54 a.m., Monday, April 22, 2002, in Memorial Hospital. Jennifer was born on October 11, 1959, in South Bend, IN, to Matt and Bernadine Wesolowski, and lived her entire life in the South Bend area. She was preceded in death by her father, Matt, and her brother, Dale. She graduated from St. Joseph High in 1977.
On July 16, 1994, in South Bend, as Jennifer M. Wesolowski, she married David W. Levendoski, who survives. Also surviving are her stepchildren, Deanne and Bethany Levendoski of South Bend; her mother, Bernadine Wesolowski of South Bend; her sister, Jessica Wesolowski of South Bend; her two brothers, Dennis and David Wesolowski, both of South Bend; and by her close friend and coworker, Lisa DeBaets.
Jennifer was employed as a hair designer at A Classy Cut in Mishawaka. She was a member of St. Stephen's Parish, St. Theresa Society, and the Michiana Polka Mass Singers. Jennifer will be remembered for her love of her family and friends, but especially for the close bond she formed with her many clients who became friends. She had a passion for collecting Mickey Mouse memorabilia and traveling with her sister, Jessica. She will be particularly missed by her coworkers, Kasey and Amanda; and her friends, Sister Maura, Mary Ann, Brenda, Robin, Mike, Jerry, Bob, Tom, Jim, Gary and his sons, and especially by Minnie. The family would like to extend thanks and gratitude to all the friends that provided support to her benefit smoker held Sunday, March 24, 2002. Jennifer's faith and courage were a strong example "of how to keep your head up!"
A celebration of Jennifer's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2002, in St. Stephen's Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m. today in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Levendoski Medical Fund, c/o Notre Dame Credit Union.
