Margaret D. Lennon, 82, of 2041
Creeksedge Court, South Bend, IN, died Wednesday afternoon May 2,
2001, in her home. Mrs. Lennon was born July 21, 1918, in
Crookston, Minnesota, as the daughter of Irving and Mary (Doherty)
DeMott.
On January 31, 1942, in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, she married Maynard Lennon, who survives. Together
they had six children, Carol Sniadecki of Anderson, IN,
Nan Custer and Joy Lennon, both of South Bend, Elise
Lennon of Amherst, Massachusetts, and a son, Kurt Lennon of Three
Rivers, MI. Her son, Mark died in Vietnam in 1969. Also surviving
are eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, and a
sister, Georgia Solsten of St. Louis, Missouri. She was
also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Margaret was educated at St. Catherine's College and the
University of Minnesota. Margaret was very devoted to her
children, her grandchildren and her husband. She loved gardening
and was a gifted painter, winning several art show awards in
Florida. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, South
Bend.
A Memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m.
Saturday, May 4, in Little Flower Catholic Church. Rev. James
Bracke, C.S.C. will officiate. The body has been donated to the
Indiana University School of medicine, Indianapolis. There will
be no visitation. Arrangements for the Lennon Family are being
made by the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka, Ave., South
Bend. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Margaret's name
may be offered to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook
Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
