MISHAWAKA - Everett P. Leiter, 89, of 500 Lincoln Way E., died at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Hospital. Mr. Leiter was the owner of the Leiter Sheet Metal Shop in Goshen from 1940 to 1968. He was born May 12, 1904, in Kosciusko County, and lived in Mishawaka since 1990, coming from Osceola and Goshen.
On March 17, 1928, he married Susie Downhour. She died Sept. 23, 1963. In 1964, in Osceola, he married Bertha Walker Lehr. She died Jan. 25, 1987. Surviving are three daughters, Arlene Leiter of Goshen, Ellen Leiter and Shirley Lehr, both of Orlando, Fla.; five sons, Everett Devon of Martinsville, Ind., Frederick of Bloomington, Ind., Gale of Kokomo, Gerald of Elkhart, and Cloyce of Orlando; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was a member of Pleasant Valley United Church of Christ.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
