Albert LeBlanc, 87, of 813 E.
Altgeld, South Bend, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Hospice House
of St. Joseph County. Albert was born on Aug. 27, 1910, in South
Bend, to Thomas and Elizabeth (Hinschberger) LeBlanc.
On May 1, 1934, Albert married Florence S.
Smith in South Bend. She preceded him in death on Oct. 7, 1997.
He is survived by two sons, James LeBlanc of Elkhart and William
LeBlanc of Fresno, Calif.; three grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; two sisters, Antoinette Jones of
Granger, Ind., and Mrs. Chester (Magdalena) Sciba of South
Bend. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, one sister,
Bernice Guentert, and one brother, Ralph LeBlanc. Albert
retired in 1975 as a truck driver for Michiana Wholesale.
Funeral services for Albert LeBlanc will be
at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at Guisinger Colonial Chapel
Funeral Home, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend. Officiating will
be Rev. Don Shanks of the Faith United Methodist Church, South
Bend, and Fr. Thomas Shoemaker of St. Matthew's Cathedral, South
Bend. Burial will take place in Southlawn Cemetery. Visitation
for Mr. LeBlanc will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at
the funeral home with a prayer service being held at 7 p.m.
Albert was a 66-year member of the Eagles
Lodge 435 and the Holy Name Society at St. Matthew's Cathedral.
He had served for many years as an usher at the Notre Dame
Football games. Memorial donations in memory of Albert LeBlanc
may be given to Hospice of St. Joseph County, Alzheimer's
Association or to the American Heart Association.
