SOUTH BEND - John James Leader, 90, of Aspen Way, died at 6:10 p.m. Saturday in Fountainview Place, Mishawaka. Mr. Leader retired in 1963 from Sears, Roebuck and Co. after 30 years of service in security and maintenance. He was born July 7, 1903, in Goshen and lived in South Bend since 1921, coming from Goshen.
On Dec. 24, 1923, in Crown Point, Ind., he married Edna Manes. She survives with a son, John J. of Jackson, Tenn.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was a veteran of World War I.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the mausoleum of Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Entombment will follow. There will be no visitation. Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
