Charlotte A. (Ferro) Leach passed
away Saturday, Aug. 16, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center,
South Bend, Ind., after a brief illness.
A graduate of Central High School, she
married Richard Leach in February 1954, who survives along with
their daughter, Laurie. Charlotte had been a medical assistant
for H.O. Foley, M.D., William F. Oren, M.D., and Stephen L.
Anderson, M.D. She retired from Linda's Flower Market in 1994.
She had served as chairperson for her 1950 Central High Reunion
Committee. She was artistically creative and expressed her
talents in oil painting.
Charlotte is survived by her sister, Barbara
Washer of Sylvania, Ohio; two brothers, Robert J. Ferro
(Nilene) of Mishawaka, Ind., and Tommy A. Ferro (Carolyn) of Long
Beach, Calif.; her cousin, Shirley Maxey (Sheldon) of
South Bend; her sisters-in-law, Cheryl Keip (Fred) of Big
Spring, Texas, Erica Ferro of San Pedro, Calif., and Margo Simpkins
of South Bend; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 3
to 7 p.m. in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. Williams St., South
Bend. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m.;
cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that
memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of St.
Joseph County, Mishawaka. Charlotte will be missed tremendously
by many of her friends and family.
