Helen M. Lazewski, 82, of Hudson Lake, Ind., passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 9, in LaPorte Hospital. Mrs. Lazewski was born on Sept. 5, 1916 in Chicago, Ill., and had lived in Hudson Lake since 1970.

On Aug. 5, 1939, in St. Mary's Church in Chicago, as Helen M. Czechowski, she married John R. Lazewski, who survives. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Dawn Zarobinski of Hudson Lake and Kim Erlandson of Orange Park, Fla.; four great-grandchildren, Shelby and Jessica Zarobinski of Hudson Lake, and Ryan and Nicholas Erlandson of Orange Park; and by two sisters, Lucille Nowak of Bellwood, Ill., and Shirley Russo of Melrose, Ill. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Lazewski Hajost on Sept. 2, 1989.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, in the Hudson Lake Mennonite Church, with Rev. Esther Lanting officiating. Burial will follow in New Carlisle Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, and 8 to 9 a.m. on Saturday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, Ind.
