Louis Layman: (Michigan City News Dispatch 4/3/1982)
Funeral service for Louis Layman, 79, 1702 Oak St., who
died at noon yesterday (April 2, 1982) at his home, after a brief
illness will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Church.
The Rev. Stanley Dominik, will officiate, with burial in St.
Stanislaus Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ott Funeral Chapel
tomorrow from 2 to 9 p.m., and before the service on Monday. The
rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at the chapel. Mr.
Layman was born May 30, 1902, in Rolling Prairie, Ind., the son
of Michael and Rose Layman. On May 6, 1925, he married Agnes
Sobecki, who survives, along with several nieces and nephews. Mr.
Layman was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
He lived in Michigan City for 57 years, retiring from Pulliman
Standard. He had also worked as a caretaker at St. Stanislaus
Cemetery.
