Mrs. Barbara Jean Layman, 46, of the LaPorte County Home, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 5 a.m. at the home. She was born July 16, 1934, in LaPorte County, to Jeffery H. and Alma (Maerz) Wilhelm and had lived in the county all her life. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Doris Jean Rogers and Mrs. Ruth Louis Kirk, both of LaPorte; three sons, Roy Jeffery, Daniel Benjamin and Joseph Ernie, all of LaPorte; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Shirley Groth of LaPorte and Mrs. Dorothy Layman of New Carlisle, Ind., and one brother, Frank Herman Wilhelm of LaPorte. One brother preceded her in death. There will be no service or visitation. A memorial service will be announced later. The Haverstock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
