William Jack Lavo

SOUTH BEND – William J. Lavo, 54, of 911 32nd Street, died of a heart attack on arrival at Memorial Hospital in the city ambulance, after suffering a heart attack in the home Friday. He was employed in the office of Edward Voorde, Portage Township assessor. Born July 22, 1892 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he came her 45 years ago from that city.

 

In 1914 he was married to Miss Lena Jones who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Eileen Ranschaert and Mrs. Maxine VanTornhout, both of South Bend, a brother Clarence of Mishawaka and five grandchildren.

 

Friends may call at the residence Sunday until 10 a.m. Monday, when the body will be taken to Hollis Chapel, where funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. Waldemar Goffeney, pastor of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Mr. Lavo was a member of the River Park Democratic Club.
