Walter A. Laughman
Walter A. Laughman, aged 64, of rural route No. 1, Roosevelt road, South Bend,
died at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday in his residence after a short illness. He
was
born in St. Joseph county Oct. 19, 1884, and lived in his present residence
for 10 years, coming here from Wakarusa, Ind. On May 7, 1914 in Elkhart,
Ind., he married Agnes Lechlitner, who survives. Other survivors are a
stepson, Warren E. Scott, of South Bend; three grandchildren; three sisters,
Mrs. Lawrence Fink, of Nappanee, Ind.; Mrs. Nelson Fink, of Wakarusa; Mrs.
Rhoda Spencer, of Huntington, Ind., and one brother, Harvey, of Elkhart.
His
body was taken from the Hartman funeral home, Lakeville, this county, to the
residence today where friends may call until the hour of services at 2 p.m.
Friday in the Wakarusa United Missionary church. Rev. William Hygema, of
Wakarusa, and Rev. Don Mikel, of Lakeville, will officiate. Burial will
be in
Olive cemetery,, Wakarusa. He was a member of the West Union United
Missionary church, Lakeville.
