Mrs. Marie A. Laskowski, 65, of East
Miner Street, passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 25, in
Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Laskowski was born
on July 9, 1933, in Valhalla, N.Y., to John and Rose (Alletto)
DiFede. She moved to South Bend in 1955. Marie retired
from K-Mart on Dec. 15, 1992, after 27 years of service as a
night-crew supervisor.
On Nov. 19, 1955, in Elmsford, N.Y., she
married Francis M. ''Frank'' Laskowski, who survives of South
Bend. She is also survived by her five children, Steven (Verna)
of Granger, Ind., Thomas and Kenneth (Paula), both of South Bend,
Anthony (Margaret) and Marylou (Mark) Regina, both of
Mishawaka, Ind; her 11 grandchildren, Brandon, Nathan, Lindy,
Aaron, Jessica, Jared, Franky, Catherine, Sarah, Ashley and
Bradley; five sisters, Lucy Bassett of Ossining, N.Y.,
Phyllis Strahl of Queens, N.Y., Rose Antini of
Myrtle Beach, S.C., Anna Lou Ricci of Armonk, N.Y., and
Yolanda Atkinson of Peoria, Ariz.; and by a brother, John
DiFede of Armonk.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
10 a.m. on Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hill and LaSalle
Streets, South Bend. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the McGann
Funeral Homes, University Area Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Road, South
Bend, where there will be a parish Rosary at 4 p.m. today. In
lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations
be made to the American Cancer Society.
