David C. Langenderfer Sr.

Sept. 18, 1934 - Sept. 10, 2001

David C. Langenderfer Sr., 66, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 5:00 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2001, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Langenderfer was born on September 18, 1934, in Toledo, Ohio. He had lived in South Bend for thirty years, coming from Walnut Creek, CA. He retired as the owner of I.M.I. Truck Parts, Inc.

On January 28, 1956, Toledo, OH, he married Norma J. Campbell, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Debra L. Leyes of South Bend, IN., Donnell J. Langenderfer of South Bend, IN, David C. Langenderfer, Jr. of Winter Park, FL; six grandchildren, Randall P. Leyes, Timothy J. Leyes, Daniel J. Leyes, Donnell J. Langenderfer, Jr., Gage A. Langenderfer, Tyler J. Langenderfer; his sisters, Ann Bigelow of Toledo, OH, Janet Garlick of Richfield Center, OH; and his brother, Herman Langenderfer of Richfield Center, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Marguerite Langenderfer; his sister, Shirley Langenderfer; and by his brother, Donnell J. Langenderfer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2001, in Holy Cross Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 12, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Langenderfer was a member of Holy Cross Parish, the Knights of Columbus Council #5521, and was a peacetime veteran.
