Robert Louis Lane, 63, of East
Jefferson Boulevard, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an
extended illness at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, in Hospice
House. Mr. Lane was born on Jan. 21, 1939, in Mishawaka, and was
a lifetime resident of the Michiana area. He was self-employed,
and always tried to help others at a time of need. He was a
veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by two children: a daughter,
Jenifer Lane of South Bend, Ind., and a son, Jesse Lane of
Florida; four sisters, Delores J. Winterstorm of
Mishawaka, Lorretta Adams of Mishawaka, Darlene Woods
of Florence, Ala., and Donna Woods of Florence; and by two
brothers, Edward F. Lane of South Bend and Ora W. Lane Sr. of
Mishawaka. Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his parents, and by
a brother, Alvin Lane.
The family request that all memorial
contributions be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County. The family
also thanks the staff of Hospice for being so kind and caring.
Visitation hours for Robert will be Saturday, Nov. 2, from 4 to 6
p.m. in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel"
Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23, South
Bend. The funeral will be private at the request of the family on
Sunday, Nov. 3. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery,
Mishawaka.
