Mildred E. Lane
Feb. 27, 1912 -- Aug. 8, 2003
Mildred E. Lane, 91, of South Ironwood Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 4:10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, in St. Paul's Retirement Community Health Care.
Mildred was born on Feb. 27, 1912, in South Bend, as the daughter of the late Raymond and Grace (Lowery) Denslow. She was also preceded in death by a brother, John Denslow on Nov. 30, 1980; a sister, Elenora Keil on June 14, 2001; and by her cousin, Ernestine Banes on Aug. 17, 2001. On June 12, 1949, as the former Mildred Denslow, she married Arthur Leo Lane, who preceded her in death on March 15, 1975.
Mildred is survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Denslow of South Bend; and by her nieces and nephews, Janet (Jack) Zimmerman of Canyon County, Calif., Sharon Denslow of Moran, Kan., and Robert Holderead and Kenneth Holderead of North Liberty, Ind.
Mildred was a school teacher for 35 years for South Bend Community School, and five years at North Liberty School before she retired. She was a member of First Brethren Church in South Bend.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m., with Rev Larry Baker, pastor of First Brethren Church, South Bend, officiating. Burial will take place at Polk Township Cemetery, Walkerton, Ind.
