Katherine A. Lane, 83, of Wayne
Street, Bronson, Mich., formerly of Mishawaka, died at 2:35 p.m.
Thursday at Borgess Hospital, Kalamazoo, Mich. Mrs. Lane was born
Jan. 28, 1914, in Poland, to Walter and Katherine Kusmiez
who preceded her in death. She had lived in Bronson for three
years, coming from Mishawaka. She was a production worker for
Ball Band in Mishawaka for over 30 years.
She was married to Richard Lane on May 26,
1946, in South Bend, Ind. He died June 26, 1977. Mrs. Lane is
survived by a son, Raymond Gardner of Lakeland, Fla. and
five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving
is a half sister, Stella Budda of Mishawaka. She was
preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. She also was
predceded in death by a son, Richard Gardner.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m.
Monday at the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St.,
Mishawaka, Ind. There will be a rosary service at 7 p.m. (Ind.
time) Monday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held
at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, South Bend, at 10 a.m. (Ind. time)
Tuesday with burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola,
Ind. Mrs. Lane was a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church and
also was a member of the Moose.
