NEW CARLISLE - Roberta R. "Ruth" Lambert, 87, of New
Carlisle, IN, passed away at 10:05 a.m., Sunday, March 21, 2010,
in Hamilton Communities. Roberta was born on June 20, 1922 in
Mill Creek, IN, to Oscar and Wilma (Watkins) Wilson, and had been
a lifelong resident. She had been formerly employed at Hamilton
Grove for five years. On February 7, 1941, in Mill Creek, IN, as
Roberta R. Wilson, she married John W. Lambert, Sr., who preceded
her in death on August 23, 2000. Survivors include two daughters,
Patricia A. (Jerry) Griffin of North Liberty, IN and Linda S.
(Roderick McNeill) Derricott of Mishawaka, IN; four sons, John W.
(Judith) Lambert, Jr. of New Carlisle, IN, William H. (Joyce
Collins) Lambert of LaPorte, IN, Robert W. Lambert of New
Carlisle, IN and James A. Lambert of South Bend, IN; eighteen
grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul
Wilson of South Bend, IN; and one sister-in-law, June (Lee)
Rowley of LaPorte, IN. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00
p.m., E.S.T., Thursday, March 25, 2010 in the Kaniewski Funeral
Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, IN. Burial will follow
in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m.,
E.S.T. Wednesday and from 11 until 1 p.m. E.S.T., Thursday in the
Kaniewski Funeral Home. Roberta made many patchwork quilts over
the years. She enjoyed the outdoors and mushroom hunting. Roberta
always had a big garden. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her
flowers, working in her yard, and sitting in her swing. Memorial
