Raymond C. Lair, 76, of 1713
Crestwood Blvd., South Bend, Ind., died at 6 a.m. Wednesday,
Sept. 5, in his home. He was born on Dec. 17, 1924, in Union
City, Pa, to Marion (Harris) and Wayne Lair. He was also
preceded in death by a son, John Lair in August 1995. He was
employed as a General Accounting Manager and retired in 1986
after 20 years of services with AM General. Mr. Lair served in
the U.S. Navy during WW II. He a graduate of Bryan-Stratton
Business College, Buffalo, N.Y.
On June 28, 1947, he married Mary (Layden)
who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Debbie Zimemrman
of Noblesville, Ind., Karen Sellers of Katy, Texas and
Nancy Stull of Erie, Pa.; a son, Daniel Lair of South
Bend; and eight grandchildren, Erika, Erin and Derik Zimmerman,
Tyler and MacKenzie Lair, Jennifer and Scott Sellers and Amy Huffer.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday,
September 8, 2001 in Little Flower Catholic Church, with Father
Michael Belinski, C.S.C., officiating. Friends may call from 4 to
8 p.m. Friday September 7, in McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison
Road, South Bend, where a rosary will be said a 7 p.m. Memorial
contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111
Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637, of to Little Flower
Church, 54191 N. Ironwood, South Bend, IN 46635.
