Mary La Fountain

Mrs. Mary La Fountain, who has lived in South Bend since 1834, died yesterday at the residence of her son-in-law, A. Humphrey, No. 1022 north Stanfield street. She was 90 years of age, having been the mother of 15 children, four of whom live to mourn her death, Mrs. J. Odiet, Mrs. Peter Bashaw, Mrs. E. Hickey and Mrs. A. Humphrey. She was the grandmother of 83 children, the great-grandmother of 115 children and the great-great-grandmother of one child. She was born in Canada. Her husband died nine years ago. She was the organizer of the Society of the Ladies of Nazareth and was held in high esteem by a large number of acquaintances. The funeral services will be held at St. Joseph’s church Sunday at 2 o’clock, Rev. Father Stoffel officiating.
