Beulah E. LaCosse, 83, a long-time
South Bend resident, died Friday evening, June 21, at Clinton
House Convalescent Hospital in Frankfort, Ind., following a short
illness. She was born near Talma, Ind., on Oct. 25, 1912, to Fred
Busenburg and Marie Severns Busenburg. Beulah graduated
from Talma High School and South Bend College of Commerce. She
married Kenneth LaCosse in 1933 and was widowed in 1964.
Beulah retired from F.W. Means Company in
South Bend after 50 years of service. She was a 50 year member of
Sunnyside Presbyterian Church, active in the Lydia Circle, and a
30 year member of the Business and Professional Women's Club. An
accomplished pianist and organist, she was also active in the
South Bend Organ Guild.
She is survived by: a son, Fred LaCosse, of
San Francisco, Calif.; two grandsons; three great granddaughters;
her mother Marie Busenburg Barkman of Lebanon; her sister,
Judy Link Rodenbarger of Frankfort; and many loving
nieces, nephews and cousins. Another sister, Rosella Doran Perkins,
preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held at Sunnyside
Presbyterian Church, 115 S. Frances St., South Bend, at 11 a.m.
Wednesday, June 26. A reception will follow. The family has asked
that memorial contributions be made in Beulah's name to the
Sunnyside Presbyterian Church. Welsheimer Funeral Home is in
charge of the arrangements.
