OSCEOLA - Marion C. Lacefield, 75, of
200 N. Chestnut St., died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday in his home of an
illness. Mr. Lacefield was employed by Federal Paperboard
Company, Elkhart, for 40 years as a machine operator. He was born
Dec. 11, 1918, in Butler County, Ky.
On Jan. 23, 1941, in Springfield, Tenn., he
married Eunice Minton. She survives with two daughters,
Janice Pritchard and Judy Wilson, both of Elkhart;
two sons, David H. of Elkhart and Kenneth L. of Hammond; six
grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a brother, Alberti Lacefield
of Morgantown, Ky. A son, Douglas, and a great-grandson preceded
him in death. Mr. Lacefield was a member of Riverview General
Baptist Church of Elkhart and Elkhart Teamsters Local 1049. He
was an Army veteran of World War II.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the
church. Burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart, where
Disabled American Veterans Post 19 will conduct graveside
services. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in
Elkhart Chapel of Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home and one hour
prior to services Tuesday in the church. Memorial contributions
may be made to St. Joseph County Hospice.
