Mrs. Charles A. Kuss
Mrs. Charles A. Kuss, of Wanatah, Ind. died Saturday at 10
o'clock p.m. at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. William
Remmo, 1014 East Water street, this city. About two weeks ago she
came to this city and was taken to Epworth hospital to be
operated on for cancer. After an investigtion it was decided that
an operation would result in no relief and she removed to her
daughter's home. She had been ill about four months.
Mrs. Kuss was born on Feb.28, 1824, in Weisenhoen, Prussia, and
came to this country about 1866. Mr. and Mrs. Kuss settled on a
farm near Wanatah, later moved to South Bend and then returned to
the farm. Mr. Kuss died about five years ago, his remains being
laid away in this city. Mrs. Kuss leaves the following children;
Mrs. William Remmo, Mrs. Frank Niven, Mrs. Daniel Hepler, South
Bend, A.C. Kuss, Harrisburg, Pa.; F.E. Kuss, Fond du Lac, Wis.,
Albert and William Kuss and Mrs. A. Peters, Wanatah, Ind.
The funeral will take place at the First Evngelical church Tueday
forenoon at 10 o'clock. The pastor, Rev F.G. Schweitzer, will
officiate.
