Robert M. Kuntz Sr.

March 21, 1891 – June 23, 1979

Robert Myler Kuntz, Sr., 88, of 2913 S. Michigan, died at 7:21am today in Memorial Hospital of an apparent heart attack.  He was owner of the South Bend Dowell Works.

He was born March 21, 1891, in Myler Town, now part of South Bend, and had lived all his life in the area.  On May 9, 1918, in St Joseph MI, he married Mayme Handgraf Biltz, who died December 30, 1971.  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frances I. Spahn of Elkhart; a son, Robert M. Jr. of South Bend; five grandchildren; a great grandson; a sister, Mrs. Carrie Copeland and a brother, Thurman E., both of South Bend.

Services will be at 11am Tuesday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Monday.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge 294, F &AM and the Izaak Walton League.
