SOUTH BEND - Services for Helen Ruth
Kuczwara, 86, who lived in the home of her daughter at 5215
Scenic Drive, South Bend, who died at 6 p.m. Monday in
Transitional Health Care and formerly known as Carlyle Nursing
Home, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Catholic Church.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to
9 p.m. Thursday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, where a wake service
will be at 8 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to
the church.
Mrs. Kuczwara retired in 1976 from St.
Joseph's Medical Center. She was born April 29, 1908 in South
Bend, moving to Niles and Dowagiac, and returning to South Bend
in 1929.
On June 12, 1929, in South Bend, as Helen
Ruth Fenton, she married Joseph W. Kuczwara. He died June
21, 1948. Surviving are three daughters, Veronica Locsmondy,
Mary Craft and Dorothy Remley, all of South Bend;
two sons, Rev. Jordan Thomas, OFM, of Marshfield, Wis., and
Joseph W. of Louisville, Ky.; seven grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; and a brother, Francis R. Fenton of
Cassopolis. She was member of the church and the Altar Rosary
Society.
