Joseph Kucharski: (Michigan City News Dispatch 2/19/1948)
Joseph S. Kucharski, 55, 1401 ½ Elston, died at 9:45 a.m. today
following an eight-month illness. Funeral services will be at 10
a.m. Monday in St. Stanislaus church. Rev. Julian Doktor will
officiate and burial will be in St. Stanislaus cemetery. Friends
may call at the Root funeral home Saturday, Sunday and Monday
until the hour of the service. The rosary will be recited there
at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Kucharski was born Dec. 8, 1892, in
Poland, the son of Andrew and Agnes Beeling Kucharski. On Feb. 5,
1931, in Chicago, he was married to Lottie Layman, who survives.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus church and had been employed at
the Pullman Standard Car Mfg. Co., since 1941. Surviving in
addition to his widow are five children, Edward, Jerome, Eugene
and Irene Kucharski, and Mrs. Chester Semla, all of this city;
his mother, Mrs. Agnes Kucharski, and two sisters, Mrs. Jeanette
Rajski and Mrs. Josephine Zapchowski, all living in Poland; and
one grandchild. A daughter preceded him in death.
