Virginia Kubiak

January 17, 1901 – March 15, 1986

Virginia Kubiak, 85, of 220 Strathmoor Ave., died at 2:10pm Saturday at Medco Nursing Center, South Bend, after an illness.

Born January 17, 1901, in Pittsburgh PA, she had lived in this area since 1923, coming from Pittsburgh.  On July 18, 1921, in South Bend, as Virginia Bronkosky, she married John Kubiak, who died Dec. 27, 1969.  Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Tylavsky of South Bend; a son, Victor, of Mishawaka; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; three sisters, May Herman of Mishawaka and Lucille Agra and Anna Wackowski, both of South Bend; and a brother, John Bronkosky of South Bend.  A son, John F. Kubiak, died in 1980.

Services will be at noon Tuesday in St Joseph’s Catholic Church, of which she was a member.  Burial will be at St Joseph Valley Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9pm Monday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7pm Monday.
