Effie L. Kruszynski, 70, of Sheridan Avenue, South Bend, Ind., died on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 28, in her home. She was born on May 1, 1928, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. She retired in 1991 after eighteen years of service from St. Joseph's Care Center, South Bend. Mrs. Kruszynski is survived by two sons, Robert "Bobby K." (Sue) Kruszynski, Jr., of South Bend and Michael (Janet) Kruszynski, Sr., of Sugar Land, Texas; seven grandchildren, Courtney and Ryan Kruszynski, both of South Bend, Jerimey, Kellie and Ryan Johnson, and Robert and Michael Kruszynski, Jr., all of Sugar Land, Texas; and by her brother, Howard Horne, Jr., of South Bend. She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Thompson in 1998.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, with burial to follow in Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
