Gertrude. Marie is survived by her devoted husband, James; three
daughters, Ruth Kroon Sims of Aurora, Colo., Mary Brown of
Niles, Mich., and son- in-law, Rick, and Marilyn of Kissimee,
Fla.; two grandchildren, Christopher and Catherine of Niles; and

School and the Midland Christian School. After moving to
Mishawaka she taught at the Brethren Christian School of Osceola,
Ind. Her husband Jim taught for many years as professor of

and loved his church. She was very active at the South Bend
Christian Reformed Church where she was a member for 31 years.

leader, deacon and elder. Her deep faith, intellectual curiosity,
indomitable optimism, and loving support of her husband will be
sorely missed.
