MISHAWAKA - Harold F. Kronewitter, 77, of 801 E. Marion St., died after an illness at 7:45 p.m. Friday in his home. Mr. Kronewitter retired from Studebaker Corp. and Holland Furnace Co., Elkhart. He was born Aug. 26, 1918, in Mishawaka. On July 3, 1945, in St. Louis, he married Thelma J. Van Scoyk. She died June 20, 1989. He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Turley of Mishawaka; two sons, Marvin of Los Angles and Marion of Chicago; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; eight sisters, Wilma Martsaff of Mishawaka, Gean Nelson of Newago, Mich., Saran Kiester and Cora Nendex, both of Fremont, Mich., and Nila Laisure and Ann Morse, both of Greenville, Mich., Rosella Beggs of South Bend, and Joanne Mendez of Chicago; and two brothers, Howard J. of Grand Rapids and Harry of Saranac, Mich. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Cremation will take place. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc. or American Cancer Society.
