John Frank Krochmal, 64, of Hollyhock
Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, in his
home. He was born on Dec. 19, 1939, in South Bend, to the late
John and Mary (Pazdziura) Krochmal.
On May 27, 1966, in South Bend, John married
the former Mary Lee Grantham. Mary and John had celebrated
their 38th anniversary this year. After high school, John had
served in the U.S. Army until he was honorably discharged. John
had worked at AM General for 37 years. He was a member of UAW
Local #5. John's hobby was repairing clocks.
John was preceded in death by his parents,
and by a sister, Emily Krochmal. John is survived by his loving
wife, Mary of South Bend; his son, Don (Deb) Grantham of
Mishawaka, Ind.; six grandchildren, Don Jr. (Heather) Grantham of
Englewood, Fla., Melissa (Jason) Potter of Mishawaka, Tim
(Kim) Grantham of Mishawaka, Chris Grantham of Lake Butler, Fla.,
Todd (Trish) Grantham of Mishawaka and Charlie Grantham of
Mishawaka; six great-grandchildren, Jade, Kody, Justin, Jimmy,
Kayla and Ryan; his two sisters, Joann Krochmal of South Bend and
Sophie Krakowski of Paw Paw, Mich.; two brothers, Edward
Krochmal of South Bend and Joseph Krochmal of South Bend; a
daughter-in-law, Cindy Grantham of Mishawaka; and by several
nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m.
today, Nov. 24, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North,
17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Friends may visit with the
family one hour prior to the time of service.
