SOUTH BEND - Marjorie Marie Kring, 86, formerly of Edison
Road, passed away at 9:57 p.m. Wednesday May 14, in Sterling
House. Marjorie was born on July 15, 1921, in South Bend, to the
late Eric and Esther (Reichanadter) Colditz.
On June 26, 1943, in Alexandria, Louisiana,
Marjorie married Melvin Kring, who preceded her November 25,
1996. Marjorie is survived by her two daughters, Joy Lynn
(Robert) Blake of Elkhart and Wendy Jo (Donald) Jensen
of Bloomington, IN; her son, Dennis James (Barbara) Kring of
Aiken, SC; seven grandchildren, Letisha Treble, Tonya Stahly,
Audra Kring, Todd Kring, Brent Kring, Kara Jensen, and Matthew
Jensen; four great-grandchildren, Tre, Tia and Abby Stahly and
Cole Kring; and a sister, Mardell Hayes of South Bend.
Marjorie was a member of First Brethren Church of Ardmore all of
her life, being involved with Women's Missionary Society,
Vacation Bible School, the Deacon Ministry, and patroness for the
Jr. Sisterhood Society. She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High
School after attending Ardmore Elementary School.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.
Monday May 19, in the First Brethren Church of Ardmore, 23370
Ardmore Trail, South Bend, IN 46628, with Rev. Gene A. Eckerley
officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends
may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 18, in the
Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., South Bend,
and one hour prior to services at church on Monday. In Marjorie's
memory, contributions may be made to First Brethren Church of
Ardmore or to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111
Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
