SOUTH BEND - Geraldine J. Kring, 89, of South Bend, passed away in the Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, at 7:40 p.m. May 17, 2010, after an extended illness. Mrs. Kring was born December 3, 1920, in Mishawaka, and had resided in the Michiana area her lifetime. On November 25, 1945, she married Victor D. Kring, who preceded her in death on March 3, 2001. She is survived by two cousins, several nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and nephews. Geraldine had many hobbies which included cooking and planting flowers. But, most of all, she enjoyed being surrounded by her great-nieces and nephews. Your life was a Blessing, Your Memory a Treasure... You are loved beyond Words; Missed beyond Measure. Visitation will take place at the Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/SR #23, South Bend, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010, in the First English Lutheran Church, located at 16495 Ireland Road, Mishawaka, IN 46544. Friends may visit one hour prior to services. Pastor Leonard Jepson will be officiating. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. The family request that all memorial contributions be made to The Green Township Lions Club and/or to the First English Lutheran Church, 16495 Ireland Road, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
