MISHAWAKA - Dawn Kring, 85, of Mishawaka, passed away Monday
evening, March 29, 2010, in her home. Dawn was born December 21,
1924, in Piqua, Ohio, a daughter of the late Edward
"Frenchy" and Julia (Mayo) Francis. On August 18, 1951,
Dawn married William "Bill" Kring, who preceded her in
death in 1996. Dawn was formerly a cake decorator at Fobe's
Bakery before working many years at Bendix Corporation from which
she retired. She was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church. Dawn
loved flower gardening and St. Bernard dogs. Dawn is survived by
a sister, Rosalie Mathias of Mishawaka; a brother, Frank Francis
(Peggy) of Holiday, Florida; nieces and nephews, Frank Francis
(Julie Stremme), John Francis (Sara), Shelly Brademus (Tom),
Krystal Stockbarger, Debra Waumans (Bob Jackson), Michael Francis
and Craig Francis; many great-nieces and nephews; and many
great-great-nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents,
Dawn was also preceded in death by a sister, Dolores Waumans, and
by a brother, Bernard "Tiny" Francis. The Francis
family wishes to thank the caregivers, Marcus, Danyell, Angie and
Rudi, for the dedication and loving care they extended to Dawn.
Friends may spend time with Dawn's family today (Thursday) from 4
- 7 p.m. in the Thallemer, Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503
West 3rd Street, Mishawaka. Services will be held Friday at 10
a.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. Jeffery Largent officiating.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Contributions
in Dawn's memory may be made to St. Monica Church. Assistance
with memorials is available at the funeral home.
