L. Loretta Kreske, 56, of West Catalpa Drive, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 10:35 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27, following an illness. She was born on March 23, 1944, in Marked Tree, Ark., to Paul and Vera Austin.

As L. Loretta Austin, she married Alvin Kreske Jr., who survives with eight children, Teresa Sibaja and Anjela Kreske, both of Mishawaka, Mary Kreske of Paterson, N.J., Paul Kreske of Valparaiso, Ind., Chris Kreske of Columbus, Miss., David Kreske of Fairlawn, N.J., John Kreske of Mishawaka and Alvin Kreske III of Valparaiso; three sisters, Joan Stein of Lakeville, Virginia Ballanger of Mishawaka and Martha Vandola of Mishawaka. Mrs. Kreske was a graduate of LaVille High School where she was valedictorian.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday in St. Pius X Catholic Church. A Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday in the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
