Robert D. Kreps, 85, of South Bend,
Ind., passed away of natural causes Saturday, March 30, in his
home. He was born June 10, 1916, in Ohio, to Harold Kreps and
Bessie Ewald. He was preceded in death by a brother,
James.
On Nov. 26, 1938, in South Bend, he married
the former Eileen Hoyland, who died Sept. 17, 2001. He is
survived by his daughters, Janice E. (Jon) Campbell of
Scottsdale, Ariz., and Judith J. (Greg) Strychalski of
Walkerton, Ind.; and by eight grandchildren, 22
great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mr.
Kreps was a retired ironworker and served in the U.S. Army during
World War II. Mr. Kreps was a member of St. Joseph Lodge #45
F& AM.
He was a longtime member of Epworth Memorial
United Methodist Church, 2404 Lincoln Way West, where services
will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 5, with Pastor Steven P. Brey
officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial
Park, Granger, Ind. Friends may call in the Welsheimer Funeral
Home, 521 N. William Street, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
