Robert E. Krauser, 81, of South Bend, passed away on Sunday morning, December 11, 2005.

He was born on April 27, 1924, in South Bend, IN, to Earl and Mary (Snyder) Krauser, who preceded him in death.

On March 4, 1946, Robert married Helen Fodor, who survives along with one son, John E. (Patricia) Krauser of Birmingham, AL; one daughter, Pam (Carlos) Vargas of Fairborn, OH; two stepchildren, Amy and Carlos Vargas; and a brother, Bernard (Helen) Krauser of Mishawaka.

Robert retired after 38 years of service as a watch engineer at the power plant at Notre Dame. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Enterprise, was a member of Holy Family Church, American Legion Post 284, the Chain of Lakes Conservation Club, and also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 14, 2005, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, IN 46619. Services will be in the funeral home on Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow with military services at Sacred Heart Cemetery, South Bend, IN.
