Albertina C. Maeyens Krause, 78, of South 33rd Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 5, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Albertina was born on May 23, 1925, in South Bend, as the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Vander Walle) Stoffelen. She was preceded by death by her stepfather, Adrian Bartmess.

On Feb. 7, 1976, in South Bend, as the former Albertina Bartmess-Maeyens, she married William C. Krause, who also preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1981. Albertina is survived by two sons, Albert (Dee) Maeyens of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Rene Maeyens of South Bend; and by two grandchildren, Jason and Kelly Maeyens.

She had worked as a housekeeper at Park Jefferson Apartments since 1967. She was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in South Bend. Albertina was a loving, caring mother, grandmother and friend. She brought joy and laughter to all the lives she touched, and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, June 8, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, Ind. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 9, in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, with Rev. Terry Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
