SOUTH BEND - Ruth M. Krathwohl, 86, of Locust Road, died after an illness Monday in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Krathwohl was born Oct. 14, 1909, in Valparaiso.

On Oct. 15, 1933, in Chicago, as Ruth M. Hittle, she married Carl F. Krathwohl. He died April 5, 1985. She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Vaughn of Dexter, Ky., and Carlene Miller of Elkhart; a son, Carl F. Jr. of South Bend; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of United Pentecostal Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the church. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.
