Mrs. Mary Ann Kowalewski: (South Bend Tribune 5/2/1972)
Mrs. Mary Ann Kowalewski, 78, of 27651 Jackson Rd., North
Liberty, died at 4:30 p.m. Monday in her residence after an
illness of six years. She was born on July 28, 1893, in Terre
Coupe, and had lived in this area all of her life. On Nov. 24,
1913, in Terre Coupe, as Mary Ann Paturalski, she was married to
Joseph Kowalewski, who died in 1966. Surviving are four sons,
John and Raymond, both of South Bend, Julius of Salem, Wis., and
Harry of Warrington, Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Jennie Jozwiak of
North Liberty, Mrs. Virginia Wantuch, and Mrs. Florence Bilinski,
both of South Bend; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren;
three brothers, Michael, Paul and James Paturalski, all of South
Bend, and three sisters, Mrs. Francis Ginter, Mrs. Carrie
Rozmarynowski, both of South Bend, and Mrs. Victoria Nowak of New
Carlisle. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to
9 p.m. Wednesday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home. Services will be
held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic
Church, Terre Coupee, Rev. Thomas L. Depa, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Mrs. Kowalewski was a
member of the Rosary and Altar Society and the Legion of Mary,
both of St. Stanislaus Church. A rosary will be recited at 7:30
p.m. today and Wednesday in the funeral home.
