Frank Kovatch

Frank Kovatch, 83, of Bowman Street, South Bend, Ind., died at
6:14 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 22, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
He was born on Dec. 1, 1915, in South Bend, to Bertha
(Kecskemetic) and Stephen Kovatch. On Jan. 23, 1945, in South
Bend, he married Elizabeth Horvath, who preceded him in death on April
25, 1992. Mr. Kovatch was also preceded in death by his parents;
three brothers, John, Steve and Andy Kovatch; and by a sister,
Bertha Sausaman.
Mr. Kovatch is survived by a daughter, Susan Hominiuk and her
husband Paul of South Bend; two grandchildren, Brian and Tara
Hominiuk of South Bend; and by a brother, Joseph Kovatch of South
Bend.
Mr. Kovatch retired in 1990 as a production manager for Alumni
Tool and Die. He was a member of the Christian Center, American
Legion Post 303, South Bend, and St. Joseph Lodge #45 F. &
A.M. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving at the Battle
of the Bulge.
Services for Mr. Kovatch will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov.
24, at the Christian Center. Rev. Dave Flowers from the Christian
Center will conduct the services. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery,
with military graveside rites being conducted by American Legion
Post 303, South Bend.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the
Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, where a
Masonic service will take place at 7:30 p.m. today.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made
to the Christian Center, 530 East Ireland Road, South Bend, IN 46614.
