Louis Kovasics (Sept. 12, 1911 - March 1, 2001)

Louis Kovasics, 89, of 1731 Oak Street, Niles, died March 1 in Silverbrook Manor Nursing Home of natural causes. He was born on September 12, 1911 in South Bend. He worked as a tool and die maker for Rohr Aircraft Corp. and served in the U.S. Army. On June 22, 1935, in St. Joseph, Mich., he married Rose Balos, who survives.

Also surviving is a sister, Irma Bingaman of Mishawaka; and a brother, Gene Kovas of New Carlisle. Two brothers, Steve Kovas and Marchmont Kovas, preceded him in death.

There will be no services or visitation. Burial will take place in Silverbrook Cemetery. Pifer-Smith Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
